Why we ask for contact details
Troopers and wranglers are asked for a mobile number and an emergency contact the first time they sign up.
Your mobile number
Section titled “Your mobile number”So the coordinator can reach you on the day if:
- the time, meeting point or plans change, or the event is cancelled
- you’re not at the meeting point
- you get separated from the group (costumes limit vision and hearing)
- the group needs to regroup or move
Your emergency contact
Section titled “Your emergency contact”Trooping is physical: costumes are hot and heavy, visibility is poor, and you’re often on your feet in a crowd for hours. If you’re hurt or unwell, the coordinator needs to reach someone who knows you.
If you can’t speak for yourself, your emergency contact can tell first aiders or paramedics what they need to know. Choose someone likely to answer, who knows you’re trooping.
Who can see them
Section titled “Who can see them”They’re not on your profile. They only appear on the attendance sheet of events you’ve signed up to, which only these people can open:
- the event’s coordinator
- the event’s point of contact
- the garrison’s event coordinators
- forum administrators
Coordinators often bring a printed copy to the event.
Social events don’t ask for these details, but show them on the attendance sheet if they’re on your profile.
